Career Coaching in the clean energy sector
Worksystems and seven community-based organizations are teaming up to connect people from the Portland Metro Area to careers in the clean energy sector through career coaching and training resources.
What is the clean energy sector?
There are many jobs related to the clean energy sector. Here are some examples:
Jobs related to building homes and businesses that are more efficient and powered by electricity. Think electricians, carpenters, plumbers, home energy assessors, on-site solar installers, HVAC contractors, and more.
Jobs with companies that create and bring electricity to our homes and businesses. Think of people who repair and maintain power lines and workers who install and maintain large-scale solar, wind, and hydroelectric power generation.
Jobs in transportation and public transit that move people and goods from Point A to Point B. Think of people who maintain and operate light rail trains and buses or the infrastructure that supports them.
Jobs that assemble battery systems, electric vehicles, switches, controls, and other components that support clean energy.
Jobs in natural resource management, regenerative agriculture, or forestry that sustainably produce food or maintain open space and forest lands. Think of urban foresters who nurture and maintain vegetation in public spaces to provide shade, prevent heat islands, and help control stormwater runoff.
