Social Media Policy
Latino Network, an Oregon nonprofit corporation tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, welcomes friendly and open conversations and values the interaction and freedom that social media affords to its users. Our social media platforms includes the following official channels: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube video-sharing site.
We advocate for friends and followers to share ideas, experiences and communicate with each other. However, we reserve the right to remove comments or discussion posts that we may find disruptive, and/or not in accordance with our organization’s core values.
To keep our social media community useful and safe for everyone, we reserve the right to remove comments (and/or block users) that:
Are considered likely to disrupt, annoy, provoke, attack, or offend others
Are off-topic for the thread of conversation in question
Are racist, sexist, homophobic, sexually explicit, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
Contain offensive language of any kind
Could break the law or condone or encourage unlawful activity (this includes breach of copyright, defamation, and contempt of court)
Advertise products or services for profit or gain
Deliberately impersonate someone else
Include personal contact details such as phone numbers and postal or email addresses
Describe or encourage activities which could endanger the safety or well-being of others
Are considered to be 'spam' (posts containing the same message posted multiple times)
Are ‘trolling’, or posting deliberately disruptive statements meant to hijack comment threads or throw discussions off-track, or are repeatedly off-topic for the comment, discussion, or post on which you are posting
May jeopardize our tax-exempt status
Could be construed as support or opposition to a candidate for public office
Defame individuals or organizations
By participating, contributors agree to uphold these guidelines. Violations of our policy may result in the removal of posts and/or blocking the user from our accounts.
Additionally, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone on all of our communications channels, including via email, telephone, or our social media accounts. Abuse of our participants or our staff via these networks will not be tolerated. Violations of these policies may result in the ceasing of communications from Latino Network.
While we take great care to moderate user-generated content. If you see any inappropriate behavior from outside actors on Latino Network social media, please report it to communications@latnet.org.
The appearance of external links on this site does not constitute an official endorsement on behalf of Latino Network.
