immigration Resources and Navigation Services

The Latine community has historically been subjected to considerable targeting regarding immigration status. Targeting includes but is not limited to violence, detention and deportation, vigilante justice, exclusion from economic opportunity, bullying in schools,  job loss, asset loss, heightened discrimination in finance, and domestic violence. However, this current administration has taken drastic, often unconstitutional actions, specifically aimed at immigrants and the Latine community.

In just the first few weeks, through executive orders, this administration threatened to commence sweeping ICE raids – including at sensitive locations such as churches, schools, and hospitals. It targeted the constitutional guarantee of birthright citizenship and expanded the ICE process of “expedited removal,” leading to fast-tracked deportation without constitutional adjudication protections and canceled pathways to legal immigration status. Furthermore, the administration is attempting to overturn local and state sanctuary laws and force local officials, by threat of prosecution, to cooperate and aid in this unlawful targeting process. 

The impact on the Latine community is, as intended, a mix of uncertainty, fear, and outright terror due to these draconian attacks on the largest minority population in the U.S. As part of its initial response, Adelante Juntos will coordinate with statewide community based organizations to pool immigration resources, work with Innovation Law Lab for real-time analysis strategies to address federal actions, and hire two full-time Accredited Representatives to provide legal advice and immigration service navigation to our community.

Community Education & Empowerment

A core pillar of Adelante Juntos is ensuring that Latine families have accurate information, practical tools, and trusted guidance to protect themselves and make informed decisions. We coordinate and deliver bilingual Know Your Rights workshops in schools, community spaces, and partner sites so families understand their legal protections and options. We develop and distribute culturally grounded materials focused on rights awareness, family safety, and preparedness. We also train trusted community leaders to share this information in familiar, credible spaces, expanding reach and strengthening confidence across the communities we serve.

Rapid Response & Emergency Coordination

Adelante Juntos supports organized, trauma-informed response when immigration enforcement actions or related emergencies occur. We maintain a trained Rapid Response volunteer network and use established communication channels to share timely, verified updates with impacted families. Our team works closely with partners to coordinate emergency family support and ensure that response efforts are swift, connected, and grounded in care.

Family Preparedness & Resilience

Preparation reduces harm and increases stability. Through Adelante Juntos, families receive step-by-step preparedness guidance so they are not forced to make critical decisions during moments of crisis. We offer Family Preparedness workshops, planning tools, and train-the-trainer sessions for partners and community leaders. We also coordinate internally across departments to identify families at higher risk and proactively connect them with support.

Coalition Building & Systems Coordination

No single organization can meet this level of need alone. Adelante Juntos strengthens regional coordination through active coalition leadership and cross-sector collaboration. We participate in statewide response networks, help develop regional rapid response strategies, and share enforcement updates and response planning across agencies. This coordinated approach increases effectiveness, reduces duplication, and strengthens protection for Latine families across Oregon.

reproductive health

This initiative includes a comprehensive communication plan to combat misinformation at every level. Additionally, Adelante Juntos will advocate for increased state funding of the Reproductive Health Equity Fund (RHEF) and enhance our advocacy efforts to address the gap left by the dissolution of Pro-Choice Oregon. The requested support also reinforces efforts to strengthen access to gender-affirming care and the full range of reproductive health services for our community.

Protections for abortion rights were overturned at the federal level as a result of the Dobbs Decision, upending 50 years of constitutional reproductive rights protections and resulting in deep anxiety, misinformation, and a need for trusted intermediaries. While Oregon has no drastic legal restrictions on abortion services, more action is needed to ensure safe access to these services for our communities.

Adelante Juntos will provide outreach and education about Oregon’s expanded reproductive health services under the Reproductive Health Equity Fund (RHEA), expand access for Spanish speakers by supporting the Northwest Abortion Access Fund's warmline, provide education about the Interstate Shield Law, and co-lead the Equal Rights for All campaign (a ballot measure to enshrine gender-affirming care, abortion, and same-sex marriage in Oregon).
