Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program for youth
Latino Network’s Mental Health Program provides culturally responsive support to Latine youth through a unique, community-based approach that integrates mental wellness into the broader youth development experience. In collaboration with our Educational Access and Youth Empowerment and Violence Prevention programs, the Mental Health team fosters emotional resilience by meeting students where they are: Both in schools and in their communities.
A key component of our program is a partnership with local universities to host undergraduate interns pursuing degrees in social work. These interns receive specialized training to become facilitators of Social Emotional Learning (SEL), equipping them to lead workshops and activities that help youth build emotional awareness, self-regulation, communication, and relationship skills. By investing in both youth and the future mental health workforce, we aim to create lasting pathways to wellness, leadership, and opportunity within Latine communities.
