Associate Clinician

Sarayd Alvarez was born and raised in Hillsboro, OR with two migrant parents who migrated to this country for a better future. She loves to travel, sing and dance. She developed a strong interest in social work when she was in middle school and pursued her education at Portland State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work. During this time, seeing the high need there was, she discovered that low income and Hispanic/Latine families were the communities she wanted to serve since they were families with whom she could relate best.

Today, Sarayd is an intern at Zenit Centro de Serenidad while completing a masters degree at Portland State University. Her goals are to empower individuals and families, help clients build resilience and self-sufficiency through support, resources, and education, advance mental health access, and provide or facilitate access to mental health services, especially for underserved populations.
