Director of Development and Communications
Lisa Watson joined Latino Network in August 2017 as Director of Development and Communications.
She was born in Salem Oregon the youngest of six and is a member of the Confederated Tribes of Grande Ronde. She graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Sociology and went on to have a successful sales career traveling all over North America for companies such as SYSCO Foods and Sara Lee.
Wanting to settle down and sleep in her own bed more often, she took a leap of faith and opened a local bakery, Cupcake Jones, in the Summer of 2007. Lisa and her Husband and business partner, Peter Shanky, grew the business by being committed to philanthropy. Demonstrating that a business has a responsibility to give back to its community, and that can be a key to success and longevity, they thrived.
Lisa and Peter sold the bakery after a fun and successful ten year run. She decided to shift her focus to where her heart is, philanthropy.
Lisa is excited to help contribute to the continued growth of Latino Network while keeping focused on the communities we serve.
Lisa serves as Board President of The City Club of Portland, and serves on the Travel Portland Board of Directors and the Wells Fargo Community Advisory Board. She is a 2016 American Leadership Forum Senior Fellow.
Lisa lives in NE Portland with her husband, her dog Brinkley and her cat Charlie Chaplin. She enjoys camping, being near any body of water, and traveling, especially internationally.
