As a Program Support Specialist, Gladys assists the Early Childhood Programs Team with the execution of the program, events, the behind the scenes logistics, and whatever else needs attention.

Gladys is motivated to work for Latino Network because she’s passionate about helping change youths’ lives and preparing them for a better future. She also enjoys putting her experience from school and what she has learned growing up in the community to good use.

As a first generation Mexican-American, Gladys was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and her family is originally from Guanajuato, Mexico. She loves learning about her culture and where she comes from. She is also proud to be bilingual and bicultural, and to have roots that are rich in culture.

Gladys graduated from Madison High School in 2013 and she is currently expected to graduate from Warner Pacific College the winter of 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She will be the first in her family to receive a college degree.

Presently, Gladys is an active member of the Providence Parish Health Promoters and a state-certified Community Health Worker.

During her free time, Gladys enjoys staying home, cooking, sleeping in, enjoying time with my family and friends, barbecues, going to the river and simply enjoying the good in life. Living in Portland, she loves how green it is, all the nature and places to explore and how accessible everything is.
