Tina joined Latino Network as the SUN School Site Manager at Woodland Elementary in 2016. Along with increasing family engagement through the SUN School program, Tina works with community partners to provide resources that assist families in meeting basic needs. She also works to increase academic and enrichment opportunities for Woodland Elementary students and their families.

Before joining Latino Network, Tina worked for two years as the Assistant SUN Site Manager for IRCO at Woodland Elementary. Originally from Southern California, Tina is a first-generation college graduate and has a degree from Portland State University in Social Science and Health Studies with a focus in Community Health. Her motivation for her work is seeing the positive and healthy development of students and their families, and seeing the constant growth within the community through the SUN School Program.

When she isn’t working with Latino Network, Tina does volunteer community outreach work for maternal and neo-natal health programs, including Clackamas County Healthy Start, NICU hospital units, and Baby Blues, a program that offers support to mothers experiencing postpartum depression and anxiety. She also loves spending time with her two dogs, exploring Portland’s restaurant and shopping scenes, and eating tacos at ¿Por Qué No?.
