Lizzie joined Latino Network in 2014 as the first Director of Development and Communications. She is responsible for setting the strategic direction for fundraising and overseeing individual, corporate, and foundation relations. 

The grandchild of Braceros who emigrated from San Luis Potosí, Mexico, Lizzie is passionate about working with the Latino community to create positive change. She fell in love with Oaxaca, Mexico while studying abroad. After college, she worked with a Salem nonprofit Friends of Pimpollo, which builds schools and funds youth development in Oaxaca. 

Prior to Latino Network, Lizzie worked as the Assistant Director for Strategy and Development at ServiceNation in Washington, DC. She is also a proud AmeriCorps Alum who served with Oregon Campus Compact on the Linfield College campus. 

Passionate about community involvement and volunteering, she serves as the leader for the Portland AmeriCorps Alums Chapter, and is a member of the inaugural class of Rising Leaders through Social Venture Partners Portland. Previously, she served as Service Chair for the Washington, DC AmeriCorps Alums Chapter and was a board member at YouthBuild DC Charter School. 

She graduated from Linfield College with a B.A. in Creative Writing and American University with a Master of Public Administration. Having just moved back to Oregon, Lizzie is enjoying exploring Portland and getting to know the community. In her spare time, Lizzie enjoys trying out new recipes, reading great books, and planning her next trip.
