Jackie has worked with the Juntos Aprendemos program since 2007. She began as a volunteer with the program. Today, she works with children and families of the program at three schools in Portland, helps coordinate the program, and mentors the staff.

Over the years, Jackeline has seen the impact Juntos Aprendemos early literacy program has had on the most vulnerable members of the Latino community in education and overall wellbeing.

Originally from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Jackie worked in Mexico as an Engineer’s assistant in computer science at the Instituto Technologico de San Luis Potosi. Since moving to Oregon, she has worked as a Commuity Health Worker for Providence, and as a teacher’s assistant with the Oregon Childhood Development Coalition.

Jackie is passionate about civic engagement with the Latino community. She volunteers her time and skills with several organizations, including the Oregon Community Health Worker Association, Rockwood Food Opportunity Project, and Community Alliance of Tenants.

In her spare time, she likes to play Andean music with her spouse and friends and participate in cultural presentations.
