She holds a master’s in business administration with an emphasis in international marketing from Portland State University and a bachelor’s in languages from Georgetown University. She recently moved back to Portland after opening and leading MG’s Washington, D.C. office for twelve years.

Nate Waas Shull works as Vice President of Partnerships at All Hands Raised where he helps lead a community-wide effort to ensure equity and excellence in education for all Portland and Multnomah County students from cradle to career.
Nate previously served as a policy advisor to two Portland mayors focused on youth engagement and education. Nate also served as director of a non-profit mentoring program for Latino youth in Portland Public Schools. A native of the Midwest, he spent his first year in Portland as an advocate for youth with developmental disabilities through an AmeriCorps member placement. Nate’s work is guided by the conviction that equitable educational opportunities form the foundation for a just and prosperous community.

Alan has 25 years of accounting and finance experience in a variety of public and private industry organizations. The 10 most recent in higher education; including at the State University of New York and as the Associate Vice President of Budget and Finance for Portland State University, as well as his current position as CFO at Lewis & Clark College
Alan earned a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Clarkson University, and a Masters in Public Administration from the Rockefeller College at the State University of New York at Albany. In his free time he enjoys hiking, cycling, reading, and spending time with his son.
Annette Campista, Secretary

With over 15 years of experience in the financial industry, Annette dedicates her time in building strong relationships within her customer and community. As the Vice President/Store Manager with Umpqua Bank, Annette actively volunteers her time with Hillsboro Schools Foundation as a Board of Director and proud to serve as a Board of Director for the Latino Network.
Annette is a proud graduate of the UCLA Latino Leadership, Hispanic Metropolitan Leadership, City of Hillsboro Leadership, and Unidos of Oregon. Her commitment to the community has been fostered through participating in multiple nonprofit committees and boards within Washington & Multnomah County.
Public and Community Relations Consultant – Public Information Officer | Legacy Health
Melinda Avila is the Public and Community Relations Consultant – Public Information Officer, for Legacy Health- Silverton Medical Center.
As a daughter of migrant farmworkers who were eventually able to leave the fields, Melinda learned perseverance and the necessary life skills to succeed by her parents. Her passion for Social Justice led her to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science and Masters in Social Work from Portland State University.
Melinda served 13 years as a board member for the Latino Educational and Recreational Network (LEaRN), a non-profit organization dedicated to reaching Latino youth through athletics; Co- founded IZO Empowerment, a non-profit organization committed to strengthening and building trust among those who support diversity and inclusion through collaboration and networking.
She has volunteered to lead empowerment groups targeting Latina high school students and professionals; advocated for gender equity with sports programs and currently serves on the Marion County Health Advisory Board, Woodburn Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Silverton Chamber Board of Directors, and is currently on the City Council for the City of Woodburn. She was also nominated for her accomplishments at Portland State School of Social Work 50th Anniversary.
On her free time she loves to spend time with her three children, Cristian , Selia and Ylianna.
John Cárdenas is in charge of the business and workforce equity program on construction projects at Prosper Portland. He has been at Prosper Portland since 2003 and has held a variety of roles over the years. John is a Mexican-American, Oregon native with roots in Woodburn and Salem and attended Portland State University, New York Film Academy, and the University of Oregon.
John's career is dedicated to public service. He currently serves on two other boards, Hacienda Community Development Corporation, and Blue Earth Alliance. In his current role at Prosper Portland, John has made equity and inclusion the foundation of his work. He pushes for equitable outcomes on construction and contracting projects in order to foster wealth creation in communities of color and low-income neighborhoods.
John, his wife Rachel, and their twin boys Augustus and Leonardo live in St. Johns. He enjoys film, photography, music, art, and spending time with his friend's and family.

Manny Espinoza is the Director of Global Strategy & External Partnership for Diversity & Inclusion at Nike, Inc. In his role Manny helps to move Nike’s D&I goals from vision to execution, along with leading major D&I projects and cultivating relationships with external partners. Manny has extensive experience working in Diversity & Inclusion and Human Capital Strategy, including time spent with Rackspace Hosting, Booz Allen Hamilton, Prudential Financial, and supporting the San Antonio Spurs Organization’s D&I curriculum and strategy.
Manny holds a B.A. from the University of Arizona, a Masters of Management from the University of Phoenix, an Executive Leadership Certificate from Cornell University, and is a Certified Human Capital Strategist. Manny loves spending time with his family and passionately supporting his Arizona Wildcats.

Brain Federico is an Associate Director of Development for the Stanford Graduate School of Business where he leads major gift fundraising efforts in Oregon, Texas, and Latin America. Prior to the GSB, Brian was Director of Development for the School of Business Administration at Portland State University where he lead the team responsible for the successful “Grow With Us” campaign, raising more than $20 million in private funds to construct the School’s new home, the Karl Miller Center. Over his career, he’s raised funds across the US, the Middle East, and Latin America.
Brian is originally from Nogales, AZ. He earned BA in English from Lewis & Clark College in 2005 and an MBA from Portland State University in 2012. He currently lives in San Mateo, CA (SF Bay Area) with his partner, Ken, and their dog, Jelly.
Jessica Howard is the campus president of the Southeast / Extended Learning Campus of Portland Community College. She holds a Ph.D. from New York University in Performance Studies and, from Rice University, degrees of Master of Music, Bachelor of Music, and Bachelor of Arts in English. Prior to moving to Portland with her family in August of 2012, Dr. Howard enjoyed a long tenure at San Antonio College in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Howard grew up primarily in San Antonio, but was born in Bombay, India and lived as a child in Bangkok, Thailand. She also spent a year abroad during college at King’s College in London, where she sang in the King’s College Choir. She considers her international experiences to be formative, as well as her efforts in the arts. In addition to music, Dr. Howard directed, produced and performed in theatrical productions at Rice University. Her lifelong hobbies, besides artistic endeavors, include reading, knitting and swimming.

Rodrigo Lopez is the Regional Senior Vice President for Comcast’s Oregon and SW Washington operations, with general management responsibility for a subscriber base of more than 600,000 and more than 1,500 employees.
Lopez has been with Comcast for more than 20 years, and he began his career as a part time Customer Account Executive at Comcast’s former Orange County, California system. He subsequently held various positions of increased responsibility within the Business Operations Organization in Orange County, Delaware, Washington, Sacramento, California, and most recently as Regional Vice President of Comcast’s Mountain region based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Lopez is a graduate of Cal State Fullerton, a graduate of Comcast University’s Executive Leadership Forum, CTAM U, and a recipient of the NAMIC Luminary Award and was recently named one of Cable Fax’s Most Influential Minorities in Cable. Patrick Quinton is the CEO and Co-Founder of Dweller, Inc., a housing startup that builds and owns accessory dwelling units (ADUs) using modular construction processes and an innovative ownership structure to drive down the cost of building and owning housing in crowded cities.
Patrick served for over five years as the Executive Director of Prosper Portland (formerly known as the Portland Development Commission), the economic development and urban renewal agency for the city of Portland, Oregon.
During his tenure, Portland emerged from the Great Recession to create one of the best performing metro economies in the U.S. Under Patrick’s leadership, PDC invested in over 800 businesses over five years, jump-started the creation of nearly 50,000 net new jobs and attracted $1.5B in private investment.
Prior to his tenure at PDC, Patrick served in leadership roles in both the commercial finance and community banking industries, including at Shorebank Corporation, the internationally recognized leader in community revitalization.
Patrick earned a Master of Arts in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Dartmouth College.
VP of Social Responsibility | Portland Trail Blazers
Christa Stout, Vice President of Social Responsibility for the Portland Trail Blazers, is responsible for the strategy, development, planning, and execution of the Trail Blazers’ community involvement.
Prior to joining the Trail Blazers in February of 2014, Stout managed the Portland Timbers Community Relations Department starting in 2011. Major League Soccer recognized the work of Stout, her staff and the Timbers in 2012 and 2013 with the Community Relations Department of the Year Award.
Stout gained international development experience in sport and social change in South Africa, Australia, Central and South America, and Europe prior to moving back to her hometown in Portland.
Stout holds an MBA in international business from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and is also a graduate of Connecticut College with a Bachelors of Arts degree. She serves on the Portland Parks and Recreation board and in her free time enjoys running, hiking and cooking with her husband Jake and baby girl Riley.

Bob Tate works as an independent innovation, design and product development consultant for the global consumer products industry. Raised in Canada and schooled as an engineer at Queen’s University, Bob spent a 30 year career in the R&D and supply chain operations of The Procter & Gamble Company, with postings in Canada, US, Mexico, Japan and the Philippines. After retirement, Bob founded the US office of an award-winning global engineering and design consultancy in Cincinnati, Ohio. He currently provides executive consultation in innovation strategy and operations leadership to select early stage start-up ventures. This experience has fostered a continuing interest in education and community economic development, with a particular focus on equity, inclusion and leadership mentoring.
Bob and his family settled in Portland in 2015, seeking to experience the beautiful Pacific Northwest and to establish deep ties to this adopted community. He was privileged to establish an early connection to Latino Network as a volunteer and Partner with Social Venture Partners – Portland support of culturally-specific preschool education programs. In his free time, Bob and his wife enjoy the diversity of local arts and restaurant experiences offered by Portland, and continue to frequently explore new global travel destinations.
